At the conception stage there is usually a idea of what the vessel will look like and how she will perform. This is where the correct designers and naval architects are employed to start turning the idea into a discernible entity by way of taking the vision and projecting it into a concept. Naval Architects are chosen who will make sure that the concept vision and can be turned into reality will be safe and sea-worthy.

Once the design has been approved a reputable shipyard will then be contracted that has the capabilities and facilities within the specified delivery time to build the vessel from the construction drawings. This is the stage that the contract is drawn up under the guidance of legal experts
